How is it that our worship can become completely mindless? We are so easily distracted, that or we don’t ever get focused so we can be distracted. We can walk into times of corporate worship and go through the motions of singing, clapping, raising our hands, and even closing our eyes and have no idea why we’re doing any of it.
Worship leaders can be the worst. Our minds are focused on chords, rhythms, transitions, who’s there and who’s not, who’s responding and who’s not…all of those things are important for the worship leader to keep in mind, but they’re not the focus during corporate worship times…I need to know why we’re doing what we’re doing…
Each of us should learn what the scriptural reasons for our actions are (standing, singing, clapping, dancing, raising our hands) and then we should know why we’re doing those actions when we actually are. We’ve got to love Him through worship (Matthew’s edition) with all of our hearts, souls, MINDS, and strength.
